Prof Gordana Mišić Pavkov graduated at the Medical Faculty of Novi Sad, University of Novi Sad Serbia. She completed her specialization in neuropsychiatry at the Medical Faculty of Novi Sad, University of Novi Sad Serbia. She is employed at the Clinic for Psychiatry, Clinical Center of Vojvodina as Head of the department for Forensic Psychiatry. Furthermore, she is a full professor and Head of Department of psychiatry at the Medical Faculty, University of Novi Sad. She was a mentor in many specializations, subspecializations and doctoral thesis in the field of psychiatry.
She is the author of many publications in national as well as international Psychiatric Journals. During her 37 years long professional and academic career she has been profiled as one of the leading experts in the field of forensic psychiatry in southeastern Europe. She has an outstanding experience in a wide variety of different fields in forensic psychiatry. She is a true founder of modern forensic psychiatry in Voivodina and Serbia. She is one of the invited experts in the field of forensic psychiatry at the Special Criminal Court in Serbia.
She was a Head of Clinic for Psychiatry at the Clinical Center of Vojvodina, Novi Sad, Serbia. Currently, she is the President of the Council for Psychiatry, at the Secretariat of Health in the Regional Government of Voivodina.
